Standing in a Column is a Hebrew non fiction book by Yair Lapid, gathering the best of his weekly newspaper columns, a Friday tradition since 1991, first in Maariv and later in Yedioth Ahronoth, for the first time in a single collection.

Hundreds of thousands of regular readers have laughed with Lapid, argued with him, taken sides in his endless disputes with his wife, and often cut his columns out to stick on the refrigerator, so as not to forget. Now, for the first time, his best columns are gathered into one book, a full snapshot of our lives, from an early ode to fatherhood written in defense of a beleaguered minority, to a piece written in blood and tears over the fresh graves of fallen IDF soldiers.
