About Ori Danino and About Us is a Hebrew non fiction memoir by Rabbi Elchanan Danino, a story about his son Ori Danino and about all of us.

At 8:20 on the morning of October 7, Ori Danino had already escaped the danger at the Nova music festival. Instead of continuing to safety, he turned around and drove back under fire to save three young people he barely knew. This Hebrew book tells the story of a young man from a religious Jerusalem home who served on the front line with the Paratroopers, and who, during 330 days in the tunnels of Rafah, became a beacon of humanity for five fellow hostages, until he was murdered together with them.

With rare openness and unwavering faith, Ori's father weaves together the days of captivity with a portrait of his son, leaving Israeli society with one searing demand, if our children could hold onto unity in the darkness, we are obligated to do the same here, in the light.
